Whangarei Engineering Company Limited is a General and Marine Engineering Company. Since inception the company has grown and increased its services to assist not only the marine engineering industry but other industries such as Agriculture, Forestry, Structural Fabrication and Transportation. Additionally, here at Whangarei Engineering we have access to a 500 tonne slipway and a covered facility for vessels up to 50 metres in length.

New Ship Build
Our company offers a design and build service for new barge Construction and other vessels built to owner's requirements. Further barge details can be found here and construction of a 280DWT Nickel Barge here.

Ship Repair
A ship repair service is offered including steel and aluminium fabrication and all mechanical repairs and survey requirements normally required. All other services including painting, electrical and outfitting etc are coordinated using local contractors.

Aluminium and Steel Fabrication and Welding
We provide a full aluminium and steel fabrication and welding service with qualified tradesmen and certified welders. (click here for projects)

Machining
Our fully equipped machine shop has some of the largest equipment in Northland. Our staff are capable of carrying out heavy and light machining of all types.  Further details can be found here.

Disability Sector Servicing
We now provide a dedicated service to Northlands disability sector including vehicle modifications, lifts, invalid equipment servicing and repairs.
