Whangarei Engineering is a general and marine engineering company. We serve the marine, infrastructure, agriculture and complex heavy industries such as petrochemical and dairy. We specialise in large capacity engineering and structural and marine fabrication. Whangarei Engineering has access to a 500 tonne slipway and a covered facility for vessels up to 50 metres in length. We also have a separate business unit providing community equipment services to disabled citizens throughout Northland, installing, repairing and servicing disability and hospital equipment.

New Ship Build
Our company offers a design and build service for new barge construction and other vessels built to owner's requirements. Further barge details can be found  here and construction of a 280DWT Nickel Barge here.

Ship Repair
A ship repair service is offered including steel and aluminium fabrication and all mechanical repairs and survey requirements normally required. All other services including painting, electrical and outfitting etc are coordinated using local contractors.

Aluminium and Steel Fabrication and Welding
We provide a full aluminium and steel fabrication and welding service with qualified tradesmen and certified welders. (click here for projects)

Machining
Our fully equipped machine shop has some of the largest equipment in Northland. Our staff are capable of carrying out heavy and light machining of all types.  Further details can be found here.

Community Equipment Servicing
Community Equipment provides a dedicated technical support service to Northland's citizens who require equipment to enhance their ability to live independently. We install, maintain and repair equipment, generally on behalf of the organisations that fund the equipment (e.g. ACC and Ministry of Health through accessable). Services we provide include:

• vehicle modifications

• lift installation and servicing

• power chair servicing and repair

• mobility scooter servicing and repair

• walking frame, stroller, hoist, manual wheelchair and commode servicing and repairs
